Weekly Roundup – 18th September

Member’s Nights at F.C.C. are an opportunity to look at topics of interest,  perhaps a topic discussed at a recent lecture which we can examine in more detail or something which has arisen in conversation.  After a short business meeting and a welcome to members old and new,  the subject of this week’s Member’s Night was Electronic Flash and Fill – In Flash.

Paul Morgan began the session by talking everyone through the controls on an on-camera electronic flash.  Ronnie Anderson then demonstrated how flash power could be changed before moving on to Multi Flash arrangements,  Soft Boxes,  Flash Umbrellas and Diffusers.  A selection of different types of photograph using electronic flash were projected with Dave Ferguson LRPS and the rest of the team holding a Question & Answer session with some follow up information being issued to Club members a couple of days later.

Next,  we looked at a few photographs taken by Club members over recent months. Stuart Pearson showed some wildlife photographs,  Bob Black took us from Tenerife to the Falkirk Tunnel,  Agnes Clark LRPS had images ranging from Dollar Park to fields of lavender and Port Edgar.  Ronnie Anderson had images of fungi and foxes while Allistair Kean had photographs taken in and around art galleries.

Next Thursday we welcome Malcolm Sproul who will be taking a look at the post processing opportunities of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

We mentioned the 5 Way Competition last week.  The club scheduled to host this years competition is unable to take part so Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Photographic Society have kindly picked up the baton.

Take care and thanks for looking in.
