Geof Longstaff CPAGB has achieved 8 Acceptances over the 3 International Salons of Photography which comprise the Vuni Photo Circuit in Cyprus. The image below, White House Below The Mountains, received a Photographic Society of America Honourable Mention and has been very highly placed within the Salon.
Last Thursday night brought our Annual General Meeting, the first to be held in-person since the outbreak of the pandemic. Club President Bob Black thanked all members for their help and support over the past year.
Information on next season’s Monthly Competition which carries a theme was issued. Photographs for that competition must be taken between 20th April 2022 and the competition hand-in date which will be noted in the new syllabus. Next season’s choices are Macro / Close Up or Street Photography. In addition to the details recently issued, information will shortly appear on the website. Please keep an eye on the What’s On & Calendar pages, under the Information tab on the website.
On 26th April we take part in the final of the Glasgow & District Photographic Union 2022 – 2023 League. There will be strong competition from Alba C.C., Carluke C.C., Eastwood P.S., and Queens Park C.C. Details of the event have already been sent to Club members. It is a great opportunity to seek inspiration from the photography being produced by other clubs.
Remember to look under the Tips heading on our website for a selection of videos and tutorials covering many aspects of photography. Many of these topics, and some new additions, will be included in Workshops for our Club members in our 2023 – 2024 season which starts in September. The new season has the theme of Processing & Printing. We will co-ordinate next season’s events covering the art of photography from the act of taking a photograph through post-processing, having a print made, and on to preparation for a competition and exhibition.
