The 5th, and final, Monthly Competition of this 2022 – 2023 season was held last Thursday night. To deliver his adjudication we were delighted to welcome Peter de Marco from Eastwood Photographic Society in Glasgow and the Scottish Photographic Circle. Peter is also Chairman of the Glasgow & District Photographic Union.
Peter’s wealth of experience and constructive comments were immediately put at the disposal of F.C.C. photographers as, with expertise and humour, he provided an evening of particularly motivational critiques.
In the Mono Print league On The Fence by Elaine Woodford, and Snapshot by Graeme McPhee were both Commended. Smoking On The Job by Elaine Woodford and Gartloch Hospital by David Jones were both Highly Commended. Little Owl by David Jones was in 3rd place, Fuel For The Future Perhaps by Graeme McPhee was in 2nd place, and Empty Chairs at Empty Tables by Elaine Woodford was in 1st place.
Marking in the Colour Print league was high. Fungus Reflections by Agnes Clark LRPS, Melk Monastery by Peter Easton, Progress and also Herculean Restoration both by Elaine Woodford, Sunflower Head by Graeme McPhee and What Big Teeth You Have by Stuart Pearson were all Commended. Turmoil by Debra Duncan, Waiting by Agnes Clark LRPS and An Alla Beach – Tiree by Graeme McPhee were all Highly Commended. Landscape Lines by Gordon McCuaig was in 3rd place. Pink Cosmos by Agnes Clark LRPS and Stone Curlew Displaying by David Jones shared 2nd place. About To Land by David Jones was in 1st place.
In Projected Digital Image league B The Vase and Sky Tower both by Jim Falconer and Through The Phone Box Window by Graeme McPhee were all Commended. BT Glasgow by Jim Falconer and Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Catherine Anderson were both Highly Commended. Breakwater Number 3 by Graeme McPhee was in 3rd place. Solitude by Catherine Anderson was in 2nd place. Little Grebe On A Mission also by Catherine Anderson was is 1st place.
In Projected Digital Image league A It’s Too Late To Get Off by Stuart Pearson, Rainy Day In Istanbul by Elaine Woodford, Defending Its Nest by David Jones, Nice Move Bro by Charles Woodford, Coffee Tea or …. By Doug Ross and Three Fungi Specimens by Agnes Clark LRPS were all Commended. Reflections by Debra Duncan and Greater Road Runner by David Jones shared 3rd place. Carlingnose Point also by Debra Duncan was in 2nd Place, Incoming Wave, completing a trio of places, by Debra Duncan was in 1st Place.
Looking ahead, on 16th March we welcome award winning photographer David Mould. On 23rd March we host the annual Williamson Trophy competition and welcome our friends from Kirkintilloch Camera Club and Stirling & District Camera Club. On 30th March we host Talking Pictures and welcome our friends from Falkirk Writers Circle.
