It’s been a busy week at our club putting final preparations in place for our Welcome night, which is the first night of our new season at Falkirk Bowling Club on Thursday 14th September at 7:30pm. Club President Bob Black outlined his plan for Thursday night at a meeting of the club’s committee last Monday night and Syllabus Secretary Graeme Buchan summarised the wide variety of talks and events taking place over the next eight months. Our 2023 – 2024 season has a theme, the first time one has been designated, of Processing & Printing. In addition to workshops on camera handling & techniques we will hold additional discussion groups on post-processing and printing. Our club has a long tradition in producing and exhibiting photographic prints so we hope to introduce new members to this aspect of photography. For members new to photography, camera handling and techniques will also form part of this new season.
We’ll also be looking at some of the photographs taken by Club members over the summer months. Members are asked to submit up to 5 images into the Opening Night – images to show > Successes and Fails section on PhotoEntry. This is not a competition. Members might want to show their first efforts at photographing an unfamiliar theme, or perhaps some images which didn’t quite work out as planned ! Alternatively, members might have some new photographs of which they are justly proud, or something amusing.
