Weekly Roundup – 29th October

Please keep an eye on our Syllabus.  One of the major contributors to the new exhibition in the photographic gallery at the National Galleries Scotland – Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh will be visiting our club in November.  Watch this space.

The Scottish Photographic Federation is holding a PAGB Awards Advisory Workshop in Dunblane on 18th November.  It’s ideal for Club members who are looking for a new challenge by pursuing either a BPAGB,  CPAGB,  DPAGB,  EPAGB,  or an MPAGB distinction.  All attendees,  whether a participant or an observer,  must book a place through the link issued to Club members last week.

Our thanks to Andy S Hayes ARPS EFIAP/g DPAGB PPSA,  our guest judge last Thursday night for Monthly Competition No. 1  and the first round of this season’s Knockout competition.  Competition Judges and Lecturers give of their time and expertise voluntarily.  We are always grateful to them as we rebuild our club following the pandemic.  We have dispensed with  ‘ A ‘  and  ‘ B ‘  leagues this season so have a Monochrome Print league,  a Colour Print league and a Projected Digital Image league.  The leagues are now compiled from the number of 1st,  2nd,  3rd,  Highly Commended and Commended images achieved during the season.  We hope this move away from a  ‘ points based ‘  system will give visiting judges more freedom to encourage originality and inspire the creativity of our members who are no longer dependent on being awarded points.
