Weekly Roundup – 9th February

3 From 6

3 From 6  is a Falkirk Camera Club event which started in 2018.  Originally presented as a  one-off  event,  it has continued annually.  When it started,  many of our club members each had their own favourite subjects.  On these much expertise would be gained but we knew from our connections with other clubs,  both locally and internationally,  that we should look at broadening our areas of expertise.  In 3 From 6  club members are presented with 6 topics early in the club season and invited to contribute up to 3 photographs of up to 3 of the topics.  The principle being,  that we might each be encouraged to photograph something outside of our normal comfort zone.

This season’s topics were:

Lines

It could be the lines on a page or railway lines. Perhaps a line being crossed or

lines in architecture, landscape or in a still life.

Falkirk District Architecture

Old or new, modern or traditional, perhaps under demolition, construction, or

gone !

Water

Could be canals, waterways or the sea. From the opportunities around the

Forth & Clyde canal to ponds and rivers anywhere, or the life in and around

them. Or it could be a still life, all either abstract or conventional.

Illustrate A Book Title

From Harry Potter to Beatrix Potter, Ian Fleming to Ian Rankine, interpret the

title of any book from any author of your choice.

Movement

You might want to freeze the action or create an impressionistic image with blur.

Green

Might be the colour or the ecological aspect, much scope here.

Over the years there have been a number of variations of this season’s  Illustrate A Book Title.  It’s the least favoured choice.  “ Well done “  therefore to Harry Sullivan who extended the theme to include a Play,  and created an ideal Waiting For Godot.

This season’s other contributors were:  Nancy MacArthur ARPS CPAGB,  Derek Forrest;  Geof Longstaff CPAGB;  Charles Woodford;  Allistair Kean;  Bob Black;  Stuart Pearson;  Elaine Woodford;  Graeme McPhee;  Ian Pratt and Sara Marshall.
