Throughout our season we hold a number of competitions, both internally and with other photographic clubs and societies. They are essentially a method of learning and competition judges are accredited and highly experienced photographers whose job is to deliver constructive and inspiring comments which aid the learning experience of the photographer.
At the end of the season we hold a Print and Projected Digital Image of the Year night which recognises the seasons successes. This season we were indebted to Peter De Marco from Eastwood Photographic Society in Glasgow. Peter is also Chairman of the Glasgow & District Photographic Union and a member of the Scottish Photographic Circle. He is a highly successful photographer with a striking portfolio including Macro, Landscape, Portrait and Travel photography among others. His detailed advice was firmly directed at improving the skills of the photographers and was appreciated by all, and last Thursday night, we announced this season’s leading photographers.
Winner of both the Monthly Monochrome and Monthly Colour Print leagues and also the Excellence in Colour Print award is Agnes Clark LRPS. Catherine Anderson and David Jones shared the Monthly Projected Digital Image league title with Catherine also producing the Projected Digital Image of the Year. David also took the Excellence in Monochrome Print award and shared the Excellence in Projected Digital Image award with Ronnie Anderson. Both Monochrome and Colour Print of the Year titles were won by Graeme Barclay who also won the Themed Projected Digital Image award. The Knockout Competition was won by Geof Longstaff CPAGB and the Smartphone Competition was won by Martin Harrower. The Themed Monochrome Print award was won by Nancy MacArthur ARPS CPAGB with the Themed Colour Print award going to Doug Paterson.
